Nestling between Altea’s antique and art shops you will find The Stencil Store. Established in 1997, the aim is to inspire even the most nervous of beginners and introduce them into the ever more popular world of stencilling and paint effects.

Lucy and her staff are always available to give you free stencilling demonstrations and you are sure to be spoilt for choice when you see for yourself the transformations made not only on plain walls but also on pieces of furniture, kitchen doors, curtains and upholstery, ceramic tiles or even lampshades! There are currently well over 200 different and original designs so there is certain to be something to fire your imagination – from a traditional border design in the ‘basics range’ to balustrades or even plant misters in the ‘tromp l’oeil’ range. In addition however, should something more individual be required then bespoke stencils can be designed and cut to your own specifications.
You will be able to see for yourself how easy it is to create quick and subtle shading –The Stencil Store is the only authorised importer in the whole of Spain of an oil based stencil stick – quick, clean, no messy dripping paint and complete control of colour application and mixing! They have to be seen to be believed!

The Stencil Store specialises not only in a unique and unrivalled range of stencils, but also in fabulous Mediterranean Colourwashes and Scumble Glazes. The shop is a haven of colour, from warm ochre’s, terracotta’s and yellow’s through to fabulous lilac’s, green’s and blue’s and staff are only too happy to show you how easy Colourwash is to apply – it is an ever more popular finish to make walls more interesting and is perfect for the uneven or textured wall surfaces we so often find here.

Regular practical workshops are also held, either to perfect your stencilling techniques or to learn more about Paint Effects such as rag-rolling, dragging, distressing, sponging, woodgraining, marbling and more (great gift ideas include prepaid course vouchers for someone who you know would love to have a go!).

A full service is also offered to carry out any specialist decorating work in your home – whether it be stencilling or colourwashing, indoor or outdoor murals or how about a complete update for your kitchen units – adding some colour or a soft Paint Effect can revive tired or dark doors…anything is possible!
