The Town of Denia Denia is another beautiful town located on the Costa Blanca and is a modern cosmopolitan city, rich in history and culture. In the medieval times, it was a city known as the MArquesado de Dénia. The symbol of the city is the castle, contained in the historical centre of Denia. In the Marqués de Campos and it's adjacent streets lies a thriving commercial centre. Denia is much more than a tourist area or holiday resorts, it houses a surprisingly large number of banks, high-quality shops, tax consultants, lawyers, doctors, dentists, some of the biggest hospitals and the courts of justice. However, it is a coastal city with a 20-kilometre coastline, made of small, beautiful coves. The beaches are not enormous and appeal more to family-type tourism. The mild temperature, the annual average being 18º C, also means it is a pleasant place to stay. It also offers a delightful mix of restaurants offering regional and international cuisines, with some great tapas bars, seafood restaurants and more. |
